NOTE: DUE TO COVID-19, YOU MUST WEAR A MASK AND STAY IN YOUR CAR AT THE SITE, UNTIL DIRECTED TO ENTER. Provides site for Shelby County residents to dispose of household hazardous waste items: aerosol spray cans with contents, antifreeze, brake fluid, cooking oil, motor oil, engine cleaners, starter fluid, automotive batteries, oven cleaners, metal cleaners, polishes, toilet cleaners, adhesives, caulk, rust solvents, wood preservative, stains and varnishes, wall paper remover, One (1) complete computer per family, flammable liquids, lawn and garden products, pool chemicals, OIL BASED PAINTS ONLY, mothballs, mercury. NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY EMPTY CONTAINERS.
LIMIT OF 100 POUNDS OR 15 GALLONS PER VEHICLE WITH A 30 DAY INTERVAL BEFORE VISITING AGAIN - LIMIT ONE COMPLETE COMPUTER PER HOUSEHOLD TO THE SITE.

(NO LATEX OR WATER BASED PAINT) - There is a video at the bottom of the Household Hazardous Waste page demonstrating DIY-HOW TO DRY UP LATEX PAINT so you may dispose of in your curbside garbage.

NO commercial waste, no home improvement or painting contractor waste, no government, farm, school or hospital waste, no explosives or ammunition, no medical waste (diapers, used bandages, soiled bedding, body fluids or parts, prescription and over-the-counter medicines), no fire extinguishers, no radioactive waste, no smoke detectors, no refrigerants, no televisions, no microwaves, no appliances, no household batteries (AA, AAA, C or D), no tires, no copiers, NO EMPTY CONTAINERS, and no unidentifiable materials.

Must have a Shelby County Vehicle tag for eligibility, wear a mask and remain in your car until directed.
