Raymond Skinner Center & Indoor Pool - Memphis

Description:

Provides swimming with an indoor pool, arts programs, bingo, summer and holiday camps and Friday night dances for people with disabilities; and an adult rehabilitation program with behavior management and community re-entry programs. Provides afterschool program for children with disabilities every weekday afternoon during the school year with assistance for getting off the bus, snacks, games, music and arts and crafts and the Reach Out program for adults with developmental disabilities every weekday. This facility also has an outdoor spray ground which is open daily from the 4th Saturday of May to the 2nd Monday in September. This facility is only open to persons with disabilities.

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

Call for information on events and eligibility; must register for pool pass at the center.

Program Fees:

No fee for city of Memphis residents for swimming but must register for pool pass at the center; Fees apply for most other programs; call for details.

Eligibility:

Persons with disabilities with a physician's statement; Ages 18 and older who suffer from traumatic brain injury must be in a vocational rehabilitation program to apply for the adult rehabilitation program.
