Hernando, MS Farmers Market

Description:

Provides farmers market at Hernando Courthouse Square (in front of courthouse at 2535 Hwy 51 S) Sat 8:00 am - 1:00 pm from last week in May until the end of October except for A'Fair (May 18) and Water Tower Festival in September. Check website for opening date. Vendors sell arts, crafts, and fresh produce, fresh milk and butter, fresh shrimp, local milk, beef and pork, baked and canned goods, plants, cage-free eggs, honey, wood furniture and items, natural lotions and soaps, Mississippi rice and local roasted coffee. Cooking demonstrations, music and other entertainment throughout the season. Children's Day is the last Saturday of each month with lot of activities and the Power of Produce (POP) program. EBT/SNAP and credit cards are accepted at the market manager table. SNAP transactions are doubled through the Hernando Farmers Market Double Dollar SNAP program.

Saturdays during the season (April to the end of October), 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Intake Process:

Vendors must reserve space in advance, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call or email (gmatheny@cityofhernando.org) to register or for information. Forms are also downloadable at the website or available in the Planning Department at City Hall. Items to be sold at the market must be approved in advance.

Program Fees:

$15.00/week per vendor booth
