Description:

Provides emergency financial assistance and budget counseling for active duty and retired military personnel and their widows and spouses with power of attorney. Assistance is needs-based in the form of interest free loans or grants, depending on each applicant's circumstances. Must be retired military already receiving benefits with a Base Access Card. On the back of this card, if it reads YES under medical, you MIGHT be eligible for help.

NOTE: Provides the same services for Army Emergency Relief, Air Force Aid Society, and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance which do not have local offices in TN.

Mon - Thu 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Will refer to Red Cross after hours.

Eligibility:

Assistance is needs-based for ACTIVE and RETIRED military personnel, their widows, and their spouses with power of attorney ONLY; or for persons who have identified as 100% disabled by Veterans Administration. Must be retired military already receiving benefits with a Base Access Card. On the back of this card, if it reads YES under medical, you could be eligible for help.

This office covers the area in a 50 mile radius from Millington; persons outside this radius should call the NMCRS Headquarters' tollfree number for assistance (800-654-8364).
