Provides six divisions of General Sessions Court that hear evictions, wage garnishments, and most civil cases in amounts under $25,000.00 in Shelby County. Appeals from this court go to circuit court. NOTE: This east office is unable to process or present matters which need the immediate attention of a Judge. You can file documents at this site, but all live action hearings are held downtown. For immediate court transactions, contact the main office downtown (140 Adams Ave, Room 106 Memphis 38103 901-222-3400). At this office, you can file lawsuits, make payments, request garnishments of wages or levy of a bank account to satisfy court-ordered payment, file to have a tenant evicted, pay traffic tickets and other services.
