Description:
Provides a prescription discount card for medications not covered by insurance at participating pharmacies, with an average savings of 45% off the pharmacy's usual retail price of prescription drugs, with the highest savings on generic drugs. In Tennessee, the card is distributed through most United Way organizations. This is not insurance, nor is it intended to replace insurance.
Contact your local United Way for a card, print a card off from the website, call to have a card mailed to you, download free app to your smart phone or use the Text to Card option available for community residents who may not have access to a printer. The text to card option: text "Family" to the # 700700. A card will be text messaged back to caller's cell phone, with receipt of the necessary processing information, helping save on prescription medications (caller is responsible for text charges, if applicable).
To be certain you receive the maximum benefit, you need to show your card each time you have your prescriptions filled and be sure to choose generic brands if possible. There is a tool on the website to put in the name of the medicine, strength of medicine and dosage to get the cost of the medicine with this discount.

Intake Process:
Call to have a card mailed to you, print off a card from the website, download free app to your smart phone or use the Text to Card option available for community residents who may not have access to a printer. Present your FamilyWize card with each prescription from your doctor to the participating pharmacy at the time of purchase to receive your discounts. Find a list of participating pharmacies on the website or call 800-222-2818 for a list of pharmacies in your area that accept the card; FamilyWize can also refer caller to other organization for help with prescriptions if needed.
