Description:
Provides the statewide historical society, housed in Nashville, which promotes interest in and preservation of all matters relating to the history of Tennessee. Publishes the Tennessee Historical Quarterly, offers public programs and lecture series, special projects such as publication of The Tennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture in collaboration with UT Press, and houses a collection of artifacts and documents important to the history of Tennessee. Society also coordinates the National History Day Program in Tennessee.
