Description:

Harwood Center operates a clinic for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children ages 18 months - six years who may have a diagnosis on the Autistic Spectrum. The clinic is on campus at the University of Memphis. Additionally, Harwood Center has a preschool that serves children with developmental delays for ages 3 years to six years old on campus at the University of Memphis. Classroom programs include specialty programs for children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Intake Process:

Call or email the Intake Coordinator (intake@harwoodcenter.org). Requires birth certificate, SSN card, medical and psychological records (if applicable) for the child

Program Fees:

Insurance will usually cover ABA Services. Speech language pathology covered by insurance.

Eligibility:

Preschool classroom available for children ages 3 years - 6 years old regardless of level of functioning. ABA therapy requires a diagnosis of Autism, or a referral letter from a doctor or psychiatrist, if using insurance and is available for children ages 18 months - six years old who may have a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteers needed to help with office work, assisting with children and at special events. Volunteers who plan to work more than 30 hours must complete a background search, fingerprinting and a physical, including a TB test. Center also accepts undergraduate interns for course credit.
