Description:

CALL FOR DETAILS ON EXACT HOURS AND REOPENING SCHEDULE. AS OF 8/9/2021, THE FOUR INDOOR POOL (RAYMOND SKINNER, ORANGE MOUND, BICKFORD AND HICKORY HILL WILL SWITCH TO THEIR FALL SEASON HOURS. SEE EXACT DAYS/HOURS BELOW. Issues city of Memphis pool passes (City Access cards) at the following community centers: Bickford, Charles Powell/Westwood, Douglass, Ed Rice, Gaisman, Hickory Hill, Kate Sexton, Lester, Marion Hale, Orange Mound, Pine Hill, Raleigh, Riverview and Skinner Centers during the summer season; and for the rest of the year, these sites with indoor pools will issue pool passes: Bickford, Hickory Hill, Orange Mound and the Skinner Center. Persons can apply online and then should go to the center with appropriate documents to obtain the pool pass. During the summer pool season, which is usually open in early June through end of July, outdoor pools open Tuesday through Saturday 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm; see community center listings for indoor pool hours at Skinner Center, Orange Mound, Bickford and Hickory Hill. Swimming lessons offered during the summer and scholarships may be available early in the summer season.
NOTE: Persons with a City Access Card from the Memphis Public Library still have a valid card (unless they have aged out by turning 13 or 18 since that card was issued); persons who were issued a Pool Card ID Card from 2008-2012 or who have lost their City Access Card will need to register for a new City Access card.

FALL HOURS FOR INDOOR POOLS AFTER AUGUST 9, 2021: Raymond Skinner Pool: Mon - Fri 9:00-oon & 1:00pm-3:30 pm; Orange Md: Mon - Fri 9:00 am-1:00pm & 2:00-3:30 pm; Bickford: Mon-Fri 10:00 am - 6:00 pm; Hickory Hill: Mon,Wed,Fri 9:00 am-5:00 pm; Tue & Thu Noon - 5:00 pm; and Sat 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Regular Indoor Pool Hours: Hickory Hill: Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 5:00 pm for swimming; 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm for swimming lessons only; Skinner Center: Mon - Fri 9:00 am - 4:00 pm; Bickford: Mon - Fri 10:00 am - 4:00 pm for swimming; 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm for swimming lessons only; Orange Mound: Mon - Fri 9:00 am - Noon for Seniors 50 and older only; Noon - 4:00 pm for all ages

All sites with indoor pools (Bickford, Orange Mound, Hickory Hill, and Skinner Center) do registration on Tue & Thu 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm and Sat 9:00 am - 1:00 pm year round.

Intake Process:

Apply online and then visit center with form and documents to apply or walk in to pool site to sign up; To register: Ages 17 and under must be accompanied by parent or guardian; minors without drivers license must bring certified birth certificate, official health department or physician's shot record, passport or other form of ID with birth date listed and a document that shows the relationship of parent or guardian to the child. Ages 18 and older must bring drivers license or other picture ID and two proofs of residence (acceptable items for proof of residence include utility bill, landline telephone bill, bank statement, mortgage/rental agreement, TN voter's registration card or property tax bill). Adults accompanying ages 12 and under to pools must also register and receive ID cards. Photo ID cards issued at registration, and no one is allowed to register someone else who is not present. This means children must accompany parent or guardian to registration. This also means that if you are going to have another adult take your child swimming, they must also be at registration to receive pool ID card. If you already have a City Access Card issued by the Memphis Public Library, you DO NOT register again. However, you must register again if your card is lost, you have turned 13 since last receiving a card, or have turned 18 since receiving pool card.

Program Fees:

No Fee to use the pool, replacement cards are free; Swimming lessons fees apply, but persons may apply for summertime swimming lesson scholarships at the pool you will be attending when funds are available (see description for list of pools offering lessons)
