Description:

Provides a variety of programs to encourage individuals to improve their community environment in the City of Memphis, including locally sponsored and nationwide cleanup and beautification events in Memphis, a littering hotline and a tool lending program. The focus of the agency is to end littering, improve recycling and beautify public spaces in the city. Memphis City Beautiful was established by a City Ordinance in July 1930 and is the first and oldest beautification commission in the USA and is the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.

Hours:

Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Intake Process:

Call, email or see website for schedule of events, to request a speaker or to borrow tools for a cleanup event; to report a littering motorist, call the hotline (901-522-5326 or 901-52CLEAN) and leave a message with date, time and location of littering, type of trash, license plate number and color and make of vehicle of the person who was littering; may also report litterbugs online at the website (www.memphiscitybeautiful.org).

Program Fees:

No Fees, except to replace damaged or lost tools lent to groups for clean-ups
