NOTE: AMERICAN JOB CENTERS ARE CURRENTLY OPEN BUT REQUIRE MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY; HOWEVER, VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS ARE STILL ENCOURAGED VERSUS WALK INS. Provides job skills training, interest assessment, resume advice, support services referrals, job transition counseling, and job placement. TABE (Tests of Adult Basic Education) testing available. Staff help persons with first time introduction to service for job readiness, explaining the resources and training offered in partner facilities. Works with private companies to provide job training programs for eligible residents of Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale and Tipton Counties, including an industrial readiness training program at Southwest Community College and other local programs. Site is in the Center City Shopping Center in Midtown on the side of Subway in the shopping center in front of Home Depot.

HOURS: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
