Ceramics Clubs

Taxonomy Code: PS-8200.0550-140

Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in ceramics, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with ceramics expertise; demonstrations of basic techniques or pottery associated with a particular culture; and regular meetings at which members share information about current projects, enjoy the company of other ceramics enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some ceramics clubs may also provide kilns and other facilities for ceramics work, sponsor exhibits or sales of pottery created by members, publish a newsletter or provide a library of resources about the art form. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
