Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their skills in ceramics, the art of fashioning clay into a variety of useful and ornamental objects using a variety of techniques including shaping, coiling, or using a slab or a potter's wheel, and then firing at high temperatures. Classes may also provide instruction in the use of glazes to decorate ceramic objects.

Children's Arts and Crafts

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for children who want to have an opportunity to paint, draw, color and/or work with clay, paper mache, plastics, wood, construction paper or other materials to create a variety of decorative and useful objects.

General Arts and Crafts

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn the basics of a variety of crafts such as drawing, painting, ceramics, fiber art, digital photography, cartooning, mixed media art, beading and jewelry making.

Metal Art Instruction

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their ability to create indoor and outdoor sculptures, wall hangings, furniture, chandeliers and other fixtures, fireplace screens, garden wall art, architectural metal works such as gates and railings, and other functional and decorative pieces that are made using iron, copper, brass, bronze, stainless steel or other metals. Students learn to operate the hand and power tools used in metalworking and finishing; and are taught techniques and processes for forming, cutting, joining and embellishing various types of metals to create objects of art.

Painting Instruction

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their painting skills utilizing oils, watercolors, acrylics and other media and a variety of subjects and styles. Classes usually include instruction in composition, color mixing and blending, and the appropriate use of brushes, palate knives and other techniques to achieve desired effects.

Woodworking Instruction

Programs that provide classes, individual lessons or other opportunities for people who want to learn or perfect their ability to work with a variety of hard and soft woods to create carvings, household articles, furniture, and other useful or decorative objects.
