Camp Counselor Volunteer Opportunities

Camping programs that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing to serve as camp counselors or counselor aides on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Camp counselors and their aides are responsible for supervising a small group of campers, ensuring their well-being and health, instructing them in outdoor skills and associated safety procedures, planning recreational activities, organizing education and work projects and developing and implementing other projects and activities that contribute to the overall camping experience for participants.

Coaching Volunteer Opportunities

Recreational programs that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing, on a voluntary basis without remuneration, to provide leadership as the coach or assistant coach of an athletic team whose members are generally children or youth who want to play T-ball, baseball, basketball, soccer or other sports. Also included are volunteers who are willing to instruct children and youth in the skills associated with a particular sport.

Recreational programs, programs for people with disabilities, senior centers and other similar organizations that are actively seeking individuals with requisite skills and experience who are willing to work on a voluntary basis, without remuneration, planning and organizing any of a wide variety of leisure time activities such as painting, knitting, quilting, card and board games and sports programs that are appropriate for the age, abilities and interests of participants.

Troop/Youth Club Leader Volunteer Opportunities

Youth development programs that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing to serve as troop or club leaders on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Responsibilities typically include scheduling and facilitating regular meetings, guiding activities and projects, nurturing special interests, officiating at ceremonies, overseeing special events, serving as a role model and mentor, and helping participating children and youth develop their potential and grow into healthy, educated, responsible and productive adults.
