Homeschooling Associations

Organizations whose members are parents who are currently providing a program of primary and secondary in-home instruction for their children who have affiliated for the purpose of sharing curriculum materials, information about state requirements for teaching children in the home and other educational resources. The association may also lobby on behalf of parents who want to ensure that home schooling continues to be a viable educational option.

Teacher Associations

Organizations whose members are classroom teachers at all levels who have affiliated for the purpose of promoting mutual interests, participating in education and training conferences, interacting with other professionals and taking advantage of other opportunities for personal and professional development. Teacher associations may be very specific in their focus, e.g., special education teachers, English teachers, social studies teachers, university professors or retired teachers; or very general including all teachers who work in public or private institutions irrespective of their level or area of specialization.
