Peer Support Services provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals gain confidence, build social skills, develop new friendships and engage in learning activities with peers. Peer Support Services works in conjunction with the Psychosocial Recovery program. The Peer Support Services is a free program provided through a grant from the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services; however, the psychosocial recovery program is a billable program.

Eligibility:
Adults (18+) with serious mental illness who are able to set and work toward goals, and to make changes that will ensure they can be as independent as possible. Must possess the ability to participate in a group modality and be able to communicate with others. Individuals cannot be dangerous to themselves or others or to property. Those addicted to drugs and alcohol, and who are currently using, may be referred to an Alcohol & Drug Treatment program, if that better suits their needs.

Description
The Psychosocial Recovery program services are person-centered recovery-based classes for adults. Class curriculum focuses on individual strengths, allowing each member to actively participate in recovery. Centerstone staff work closely with participants, helping them set educational, vocational, and interpersonal goals.
